Wonder if Deontay's right hand is hurt again?

Maybe not?

God Bless,

He likes carrying matches out to give the crowd their money worth and wear the guys out. Which very successful boxer does that remind you of?

When Wilder was at Bartow the first time in B'ham, we sat up high in the cheap seats. When he threw those long ass arms and connected it hurt me.

When Wilder meets a true boxer that can stand up to a few of his bombs, he'll lose because he is sure not the most skilled boxer out there, but I really don't know if there is anyone like him at throwing haymakers since young Tyson.

Wilder met a true boxer last night in Ortiz. Hence why he almost had his ass handed to him in the 7th. Wilder showed some true Alabama heart and grit by staying up and putting him down.

I think a better comparison for him is that he's like a heavyweight Leonard Hearns. Long, lean build for his weight class and world-class power coming from those long ass limbs. Tyson was more like a squat pitbull that threw laser quick left hooks and inside shots.

Hardly. The simple fact is that the money is in boxing. Boxers don't have to do gimmick crap to get paid.

I met Wilder just before he won the belt, he was the nicest most humble guy. Nothing like the trash talking idiot that you see on TV. Its hard to pull for someone that acts like he does even though he is from Alabama.

It's all for show, a shtick....it's just part of it, and its nothing new (ever watched old Ali fights ND interviews?)

I've met him also, and yeah, he was as nice as he could be. Just seemed to be a generally good dude.

The only thing I meant to be comparable is the iron they carry in their fists. Ortiz boxed better than most Wilder has faced and kudos for Wilder stepping up in opponents, but his lack of boxing skills almost cost him the fight. Ortiz is not the best heavyweight boxer out there though. Wilder had better be working on his boxing skills if he wants to keep the title.

Although you're correct in Wilder being far from polished as a boxer, Ortiz being a lefty probably caused him as much problems as anything.

Agreed. Remember I'm old so my reference for a polished heavyweight is still Ali.
