Tip Top Grill on Shades Crest Road in Hoover, without a doubt, the best chili dog I've ever had!!!! Do yourself a favor, even if its out of your way, and go there. You will not be disappointed.

I want, at minimum, 3 kinds of beans in my chili
That is a hanging offense in Texas. Texas chili has no beans. Just Chili Con Carne
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Everyone down here in Mobile will tell you The Dew Drop Inn has the best... but it is more of a nostalgia thing than an actual good dog.
The real hotdog aficionados will tell you Al's Hotdogs and Other Fine Foods at Airport/University is the best chili dog in 200 miles of the coast. I never have cared for the dew drop, they are OK but nothing special even though my family love it for the tradition I guess. Als is not that great either but do have a lot of variety with different sausage dogs and such. My favorite is the Dixie dog from colonel dixie. Not the retaurant, because they were bought out and are different now, but the food trailer they have at hwy 90 and demotropolis. It's only open a couple of hours at lunch. Their giant chili cheeseburger is good too.
