Dicks has terrible prices and selection. I cant find any any any place better than academy sports. They have everything in store, huge selection, best prices.....they beat anyones gun prices by 5%!!!!! Why shop anywhere else. Dicks will be out of business anyway. It will be walmart and academy dominating

Academy beats anyones prices by 5% on guns or anything they sell by the way!!! I got a new springfield 45 xds for 375 bucks after tax!!!! After price match and $25 off for applying for their credit card. Then i get a $25 gift card for every $500 spent. Points includes gas or any purchases anywhere anywhere but requires more point in out of store purchases. Forget dicks. They are as bad as gander mountain

This all comes down to not following through. It is easy to be vocal on here about protecting the 2nd amendment and hollering about how it all ain't fair. Seems to be plenty that feel this way.
It is another to drive right on past Dick's and shop somewhere else even if that means throwing the local guy another $10 or $20 at the counter when you check out.
There was a big push in the 80's to buy American. This is why everything we have on the shelves at your local stores are made in China. It didn't work - Whatever is cheaper, easy or more convenient is what people will ultimately do regardless of what they say.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

Geez, what a stupid statement by Dicks. Honestly, I'd have a little more respect for them if they just decided to quit selling guns altogether. Why cherry pick? Just become a sporting goods store and be done with it. They are opening a brand new one 5 minutes down the road from my house. Guess I will just have to keep on driving to the same places I've been going before they were there, no sweat off my back.

As many have posted, Dicks gun (low margin) selection sucks and overpriced. So if they can appeal to the liberal market, it could attract more shoppers, cause most 2nd amendment guys and hunters are passing them anyway. I am sure Dicks rather sell kids clothes and shoes vs guns.

I haven't set foot in their stores since they pulled their "black guns" after one of the earlier shootings. Don't plan to ever again. How about academy? No, sir. I haven't been in either since Sandy Hook and have never been in a Field and Stream. I've also boycotted GM (The American Family has changed Olympic ad campaign) and Target (allowing people to use the bathroom of the gender they identify with). The only thing these people understand is $$$ and they can't have mine until they say they screwed up. They made their business decision, I made mine. I pretty much buy from local shops (The Shur Shot, Mark's, Simmons, or Nichols) or buy on-line.

I've only "shopped" their once. Very limited selection of hunting/fishing and way overpriced.
