So the wife is complaing about me hunting so much so I took the day off so we could have some "quality time". So today she has been baking cookies all day! Give me a break! I work hard 10 months a year.Give me my 2 months of enjoyment. Am I wrong for this?

Think of it as supply side economics, if you know what I mean.

I believe it is completely unfair for a man or woman to complain about the other's hobby, passion or time off.

It was noted that deer season is only 2-3 months out of the year. Nine months, nothing is going on other than maybe occasional work days or visits to the camp or scouting.

Then in the 2-3 months when it's the time to hunt, hell gets raised.

It's complete BS, and then especially when you give up a day and it becomes "Oh, I'm just going to clean house" or "I'm making food for the Johnson's sick mother" and you sit on your ass around the house, or "Let's ride around (wasting gas) and look at the pretty Christmas lights."

A few days out of 2-3 months is not too much to ask for in a compromise, partnership and loving relationship in which you respect the other, of which marriage is supposed to be.

And yes, I've gone through this before. Completely sucks because either way, many times you end up being the bad guy either way.

My wife is actually a little PO'd that I'm not getting to hunt more this season. My lease costs the same whether I hunt or not.

My wife hates turkey season. I usually get to hunt around 20-25 days of the season. She has grown to deal with it over the years. She doesn't get pissed about it or anything, but she will tell you she is glad when its over.

I rarely deer hunt, maybe 10 times a season, more of less to get a few freezer deer.

I put mine through 2 deer seasons before I married her. If she had ever complained there wouldn't have been a wedding. She knew what she was getting into. Tried numerous times to take her hunting, but she doesn't want to. When the meat supply is running low in the freezer she'll get upset at me for coming home telling her about a buck I saw and let walk. grin

Tell her that pussy is costing you the same, too.

I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.
