I think the in-state fee should be $425

I live in NW Fl and there is a very healthy population of deer here. I have driven back and forth to the Pike county area for over 40 years and at night you are just as likely or more likely to see deer along the highway as you do in Alabama.

That is my Thought as well.

I am tired of rich neighbors with political connections feeding by the tons and The small land owners getting caught for baiting.

Raise the out of state fee high enough to cover losses, or most of it, from making corn legal. Bam, problem solved. Only reason out of state folks hunt here is cause they gots money. Time to pay the piper.

I see Alabama's deer population, which is a shared state resource, as no different than something like a professional sports stadium. We (the states residents) hold a valuable resource that many desire to use, and in my opinion, we don't charge out of state hunters enough for it. If the deer hunting in Alabama is only so-so, then those out of state hunters can talk with their wallets and not buy an expensive out of state hunting license. The visceral reaction to this suggestion is all you need to know about whether out of state residents would continue to buy a license. If the hunting wasn't so good here compared to their home states they'd laugh it off and not care. We need to take pride in what our state has to offer and charge accordingly. We have more woods and huntable land here than almost any other state in the nation when you take into state size and population.

Push all the pine trees down and clean up the fields, kill off all the hogs and let people make a living farming again like it use to be here and we wouldn't need corn. It use to be a lot more fun and kill a lot more and bigger deer back then.

Ya'll quit sending your folks down here to FL on vacation and we'll stop sending ours up there to hunt, deal?

When I lived in Santa Rosa beach, it was bad when vacation season started. In the mornings I could get to Eglin in 30 min. but going home would take an hour or more.

I hunt AL because that's where I'm from, that's where my friends hunt, and that's where I have access to land. None of those have anything to do with money. Do plenty of out of state people hunt AL and have money? Sure, but don't lump everyone into one category. Also, I would bet that out of state hunters already contribute almost as much, if not more money to the state than in-state hunters do, by the time you add up the $306 license, fuel, food, lodging, etc.

It may have already been asked, but what is the time table for when this will be presented and voted on in the senate?
