As popular as they were and still are, and he's easily recognizable, I'd imagine it would be tough to try to live a somewhat normal life without being a bit off-putting due to all the requests.

Minor sidetrack: I was in 8th grade when a friend asked me in school if I was going to the Morgan County Fair. Wasn't going that night. He went and the next day said he'd seen a great band named "Alabama" that played. Got to see them for the price of the fair admission.

That was early autumn 1979. In January 1980, "My Home's in Alabama" was released. The rest is history.

The short brown haired guy in Alabama guitar player owned a bar in Destin back in the early 90's.

Met him when I was stationed there. He did not have a lot of good things to say about Alabama at the time. Probably just a little burn out from all the years.

I remember when he got up on stage, he said, "Best thing about playing here, is I don't have to play a single effin Alabama song!"

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

Yeah if i get the rare opportunity to meet somebody like that i dont expect a whole lot really. I have shook hands and met probaby a dozen NASCAR drivers. They were the ones kind enough to speak. The other 20+ act like you are a nothing.

The best index to a person’s character is (a) how he treats people who can’t do him any good, and (b) how he treats people who can’t fight back.
