Post up the address to who all y'all are sending letters. Obviously the governor, but anyone else? I'll hop on that train too. Heck, everyone that hunts/spends money in the area should do the same.

Governor's letter is done... now on to AG Sessions.

"Madam Governor,

I writing you today as a concerned citizen in regards to the recent on goings in Wilcox County. There are many in the county who have no regard for the law, life, or property rights. These individuals become more and more fearless each year. And why not? What do they have to fear? Land owners and hunters report night hunting… nothing is done. Land owners and hunters report trespassing/poaching,,, nothing is done. Camps are constantly burglarized & vandalized… still nothing. What are a law abiding citizens to do?

By now I am sure you are well aware of the murder of Robert Shane Manley. This man, like many Alabamians, took to the woods to enjoy another deer season here in the heart of Dixie. Unfortunately, his life was cut short (presumably) at the hands of these very locals. Like many of us, he chose to bring his money and invest in Wilcox County. He purchased land and paid property tax there. He paid a lease to other land owners there. He shopped in Wilcox County stores. He bought gas at Wilcox County stations. He ate in Wilcox County establishments. And how has Wilcox County repaid him? By leaving him dead in the woods, killed in cold blood by cowards.

And now, it appears that Wilcox County is content with pretending it never happened. Sure, there was the SBI investigation… that took investigators right to the most likely suspects: the trespassing, thieving, & poaching neighbors that Mr. Manley had been dealing with for some time. But in typical Wilcox County fashion, instead of following some protocol that would prevent a group from collaborating on their story, I hear that they were left together in the trailer for hours while awaiting a warrant? Are we surprised that they all give the same story after that? Where is the justice? I’m afraid that until the powers that be determine they are going to enforce law and order, it leaves us with only 2 options.

Option #1 is to simply pull out of Wilcox County. Imagine the loss of revenue when hunter’s no longer pile into David’s Catfish & Big Mike’s on a Friday night. What will the feed stores do when hunters stop shopping with them? How will the gas stations manage when hunters aren’t there fueling up for the ride home? When we quit buying land…when we quit leasing property… when we no longer need power/water for our camps?

Option #2 is much worse. What happens when the law abiding citizens rise up? What if, instead of tucking tail and leaving town, those same folks make a stand? Will the law enforcement show up then, and if so, how will they identify the villain from the vigilante? What happens when the national spotlight once again turns to our state?

Governor, I ask you, beg you even, please step in and gain control of the situation. Call in favors with the DOJ if necessary. Do what is necessary to make Wilcox County a safe place again. Do not let this sweltering powder keg explode on your watch. You, with your Wilcox County roots, should understand and appreciate the severity of this situation. When the history is written, what will be said of you?"

Sir, I am afraid there is a storm brewing down south. For too long the complaints of law abiding citizens have gone ignored. Each year, the crimes get worse: more theft, more trespassing, more poaching, and more night hunting. And now it seems to have culminated with the death of an innocent man. If you listen closely, you can hear the murmurs are getting louder. With this incident, something has changed. I fear that we are closing in on a time when the law abiding citizens rise up to take the county back instead of continuing to accept being victimized. What if these folks decide “enough is enough” and begin to take matters into their own hands? Will the law enforcement show up then, and if so, how will they identify the villain from the vigilante? What happens when the national spotlight once again turns to our state in such a negative manner?

Mr. Sessions, I ask you, beg you even, please step in and help the good people of Wilcox County gain control of the situation. Get on the phone with Governor Ivey and do what needs to be done to make sure justice is available for all people, of all skin tones. Do not let us delve back into the pits of racial divide that once plagued rural Alabama. There is a sweltering powder keg in Wilcox County and surrounding areas... will you let it explode on your watch? With your Wilcox County roots, I know you understand and appreciate the severity of this situation. When the history is written, what will be said of you? Thank you for your time & consideration."

Checked my cameras yesterday. This man is prepared for everything. He's got a shotgun and fishing rods. The river is a mile behind him and my pond is less than 1/4 mile in front, plus he is in the middle of 5,000 acres of hunting land!
I wonder if he knows any thing about the hunting accident?

I'm going to make a wild ass guess that ya'll haven't seen any law enforcement help down there yet???

And.....they are doing everything they can to prove that my feeling is CORRECT!

It is becomingly increasingly hard to Support them as I have seen absolutely nothing from them except Rules, Regulations and TALK.

Danny, ya'll need a group of hunters/landowners from that area to go to the next CAB meeting and take up as much time as possible laying out your problems and the lack of response by the dept. Burn their ears.

BUT, there will be people there and it will be brought up!

The Dept seems to be far more focused on 'Managing' the State for mature trophy bucks than anything else.
I just see absolutely ZERO concern for Enforcing the current Laws and Regulations.
That is made clear by the lack of GW's. That number is 'set' and budgeted for. Don't tell me 'we don't have the money'. BS!!!! It is in the Budget EVERY year. The decision is just made to use that money elsewhere!!! And.....don't tell me that 'we cannot find qualified candidates'. BS!!!!! The Register contains MANY competent and qualified applicants!!!! And, judging by the debacles over the years with some of the hires.......it ain't like they are afraid to hire 'bad' candidates!!!!

This IS what you get when that is your goal. I have heard for years how we 'need' a biologist to be over the WFF Division because they know science.
I disagree.
We need a strong and impartial LEADER who seeks to be honest and balanced.

I was trying to find the thread someone posted with all the citations by county to review. When I looked at if before there were VERY few arrest for trespassing/hunting without permission, night hunting. Mostly baiting, harvest record and fishing license citations.
Can someone point me to that thread again?

I was looking for the email for Blalock's office. I can't find it doing a google search. Any body have it?
