I created an account just to respond to this post. If one is to post in a public forum to stir up a public response, I feel it is beneficial to include all the facts before assumptions are made. For example, a bit of information which was left out of this post includes: a doe dumped at the gate on the land owner’s property which had corn spilling out of the guts. Also, the hunter’s “ area” was not disturbed as he was checked in a shooting house close to his truck and had just arrived at the stand, nor was his son checked that afternoon as I did not wish to disturb the hunt any further on the last day. I gave the benefit of the doubt and probably shouldn’t have and went ahead and checked the entire area. I always attempt to be professional and courteous. Also, I am a hunter and put people’s hunt into consideration before checking them, but the reality is, game wardens can’t always work back at the truck.
AutaugaGW you created this account and implied I made this post "stir up" a response. If you will look I have 3350 post on this board. It was not my intent to stir anything up. If you knew the history of this board you would know that the wardens have had the hell beat out of them for looking for corn and wrecking peoples hunt. My intent was to show other aldeer members that not every encounter is bad one. I thought you were completely professional and courteous and I never said anything other than that. Now to address the "all facts that were not posted".
I did not look at the deer dumped at the gate on the dirt road with corn spilling out of the guts as having anything to do with me. Why would I or anyone that hunts our place dump a deer at our own gate. We have go by and smell that crap! If you are using that, as a reason to check me, you need to put some more thought into it. It is 100 more times likely that a night hunter
or road hunter or something to that effect put the deer there. I also told you that I knew it was your job to look for bait and to look! You did not give me nothing(benefit of the doubt) I told you to look . I also told you there was not any bait . You would not have found any and you would have been soaked! As far as my son, he was totally legal . I told you in detail how to find him. We take pride in being ethical hunters and good citizens. You are welcome at our place. I gave you the comb. to all the gates.. If you come back ,you can count on being treated with respect from me and any other hunter there.
P.S I had his last name wrong it is Machenry (Spelling?)
