There is no law on the books that can convict the heart of a man with no integrity. So with that argument, let’s just do away with local law enforcement too. No state troopers to patrol the highways. No police departments to patrol our city streets. No sheriff to patrol our counties. We all want total anarchy!
And yes game laws keep some people from committing acts that the general populace agrees shouldn’t be done. If they didn’t there would be no game. History has proven that there must be legislation and an enforcement entity responsible for wildlife management or they will be overexploited. Red wolves, eastern cougars, black bears, passenger pigeons, elk, bison, wood ducks, deer, turkey, and many others are either not here today or suffered extreme population declines when the people were allowed to go unregulated. I don’t want to back down that path again. You’ve got to understand where we came from to understand why we are at the point we are today, and it’s obvious some people don’t have a clue about the conservation movement in North America. I can’t make it any more clear that it was HUNTERS and ANGLERS who demanded change, not the government. Yet there’s several posts on this thread after I and others made that clear, that talk about big government and the government being there to help. Of license sales stopped, Conservation depts ceased to exist, and the people had their way you wouldn’t have to worry about any of these conversations because there wouldn’t be anything to hunt or fish for.
