If they want us to cooperate, why can't they get the dang thing right? In the field before I moved the deer I tried to report it but kept getting a message that deer season information is unavailable at this time. I don't have cell service where I hunt but it is still supposed to record the info. Same message at the processor. Get home and it lets me record the info but won't send it in I just get another message that tells me to try again later. I guess I'll try to call it in but I'll have to find my Conservation ID number I guess. I thought the reason to load it on the app was to prevent these problems.
Whoever is in charge of this program needs to find other employment because it sure doesn't work like advertised.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I used the app last week when I finally got a signal and it was super easy. I bet it didn't take 30 seconds.

It never worked for me last year. This year it has worked as advertised.

It never worked for me last year. This year it has worked as advertised. I'm just the opposite. No problems with it last year at all, but this was the first one I've bothered to shoot today and no go. It was responding as if deer season was over. I wonder if they forgot they extended the season? Anyways, came home and did it on my PC with no problems once I hunted my Conservation number up. Apologies to my GW friends, but I guess I was illegal for awhile but I tried to report it before I moved it.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I thought you were supposed to write it on your license before you moved the deer and had 48 hours to report to game check why would you complicate it anymore than just having a pen in your pocket? Just write it on your license in the woods and if the game check dont work withing 48 hours throw it away and print a new license with a blank record its their screw up not yours. I print 5 or 6 licenses every years one goes in boat,truck,4wheeler and wallet then i keep the extra just incase i need to toss one

I have a lifetime license and the App so I'm not supposed to have to carry a paper form.

It never worked for me last year. This year it has worked as advertised. Same with me, last year was a frustrating experience, this year took less than a minute and I was done.

My nephew tried to use app Friday afternoon. Would not accept his email. We tried to call, got about 10 minutes into call. When we were entering in second side # of points we lost signal and were cut off. Used app next morning and it worked fine.

Tried using the app last week and it wouldn't open properly. An hour or two later it popped up and took seconds to enter the information.

I just saw this on their facebook page on the same issue: "We’ve had that report and looked into that - it seems that happens when you ALMOST have a signal....so it logs fine if you have no service, but if your phone is trying to connect and almost can...you get that message. You handled it perfectly. Another option would have been to switch your phone to “airplane mode” so it would stop trying to get service and then it would log the info while you were completely without signal. Thanks for using Game Check, and sorry about that glitch."

So they're saying that a cellphone will transmit data with absolutely no signal. If the person that wrote that is in any capacity in the IT department, THAT is the problem.

Pocket Ranger - the app used for the GC - isn't new and is used by other states. We've had this now for two deer seasons, and I'm sure it was thoroughly tested before being unleashed in the Great Mandate here. And yet two years later we still have glitches, problems, frustrated hunters and people who I'm sure are saying, "Phuck this. if they catch me without reporting, so what?" I've hunted in other states with check systems and used them on my phone. They worked easily and without any problem. How these problems are still coming up here is mystifying. Perhaps in the 2018-19 season there will be fewer glitches and problems.
