I find it interesting that you think landowners should just call the GW to handle it if they are having problems with dog hunters, but if you suspect someone has shot your dog then you are going to take the law into your own hands and enter their property with a gun and prepared for a gun fight. Does that not seem at all inconsistent to you?
I have been on both sides of dog hunting and finally gave it up because we couldn't keep our dogs on our land. And I have caught dog hunters on our land on several times, and they always said they were just looking for the dogs. But 100% of the time they had a gun in their hands. Why do they need a gun to look for dogs? I always asked, but never got an answer to that.
I agree PCP. I find it funny that the stand hunters should be OK with the dogs guys dogs on their lands. Same old BS.."Dogs cant read signs". But how would they feel if the stand hunters were on the dog club still hunting their land?? I think theyd be upset about that.
Also, if you have a GPS and SEE your dog is on someone elses land..you should SHOCK them or something to make them turn around...not just keep watching til you hear a shot..then go running to where you last had the dog on your GPS ready to fight or shoot someone ON THEIR LAND over your IRRESPONSIBLE actions concerning your dogs.
It seems the dog hunters want the respect from the one side and the guys not shooting their dogs,..but they arent respecting the LANDOWNER at all and LET their dogs run on other folks land.
I was always taught respect is a TWO WAY Thing.
