Sounds like the locals have it figured out that they can Mogadishu the area with no legal reprocussions. And, if the hunters try to do something...said locals quiet the hunters their way. They know there's nothing to worry about.

They know there's nothing to worry about. Yep. Thats' the way it used to be but IMO this has the potential to escalate out of control pretty quickly. If the locals are smart they will hang out on the porch for a while. I know a bunch of guys that lease and have camps in that area that have been dealing with their crap for years and this has pretty much pushed them over the edge. Quite a few knew the guy that was shot. Most aren't going to ask many questions or look the other way, like they have in the past, if you are a "local" on their property and toting a gun. The dozen or so that I've talked to have all said that "I'll feel threatened and in fear of my life. Im not going to give them the chance to shoot me in the back". They need to make some arrests on this and do it quickly so things will settle down. I'm glad 95% of my property is on the other side of the river. Everyone needs to remember that no deer in the world is worth dying or killing someone over.

The guy that hit Abe in the head is still out of bond and that trial has never come up....may never will.
There's a gang from Red Creek that breaks in every vehicle left on the side of the road in West Wilcox County. The sherrif knows who is doing it and has never done anything about it.
I do hope that someone with the State has the balls to catch the killers.

I just got word that Warden and Police are crawling down there right now. Good, they need to be!! BUT, if I'm understanding this correctly...the fbi/nsa/kgb crawling around won't mean nothing if a jury of their "piers" won't convict. That's the reason the locals are so brave/blatant. No legal repercussions.

I stayed at my camp house Monday night. I heard 4 wheelers around 9 pm. walked out on the porch and heard 2 gunshots in the woods spaced out about 10 min. apart. I couldn't believe the crazy SOB's were back at it this soon.
