Well, they mean it when they say jerk. the only thing I do differently is the speed at which they jerk. it's pretty rapid fire. I learned to at least giv'em a chance to catch it, but Vandam does great fishing it fast. I doubt may fish a pop-r as fast as it gets fished in Texas either. If you remember Clunn started that craze too. He was a guide on Conroe. A client in the middle of the day, opened a new one. Tied it on and started jerking the hell out of it all of the way back to the boat. no stops or slowing down. He started catching them like crazy too. It baffled Clunn. Who turned it into an art. He taught Zell Roland that was also guiding on Conroe. That was when it was full of hydrilla. I swear I heard Ricky tell this at a bass Club in Houston after his first Classic win.
