I'm surprised they are gonna offer #9 loads. That's pretty radical for a major ammo company. The big question will be how tss works with the flite control wads. They will probably work ok and Federal will make a lot of money off the research of Hal and a few others.

They still figured out how to screw it up. The only load they offer in a 20 gauge is 1 1/2 oz of 7�s. 9�s in 12 ga and .410 only

Well brentm i read the same thing you did. But i believe they will come out with a load shootin #9's. I say this because i just read another news report that said they would offer 7's and 9's in 12,20,and 410. Sooo maybe its early still and they just aint got it together yet.

Looks like the #9s in the 20 will be a reduced recoil load.

so are y'all thinking these will be a good load for a youth 20 or no? My 8 year old is in need of a youth gun, and I would want to buy a 20 if it would perform well and have a lower recoil. other than that we will probably end up with a 410.

If they are offering the 20 gauges in only #7 shot, wouldn't I be just as good with the old #7 heavyweights? I would the 1.5oz of the heavyweight #7s would have more pellets than 1.5oz of tss leading to better patterns out of the old shells. Am I thinking right?

It probably had something to do with the federal heavyweights. If the TSS shot had 9s in a 20 gauge i would think that would make the heavyweights obsolete. Everybody would be switching over and sales in the heavyweights would crash.

My understanding is that they are loading a #9 in the 20 gauge at 1000 FPS. Cabelas already has the listing on their website, but it shows backordered. Also, the TSS is replacing the heavyweight, so stock up if you don't plan on switching...
