I know this land owner Chuck is talking about and he's completely against any hunting on his property and if he says no he aint kidding and he'll say no in a way you wont forget that he said it

No need to be an ass about it if someone shows you the courtesy of asking, unless he already knew he was planning on poaching. This is why a lot of hunters, especially young ones are afraid to ask. It is easier to just risk it than to get an undeserved ass chewing for asking.

His land, he can allow or disallow hunting or access in any manner he sees fit. I've had tons of people ask if they can hunt my land...sometimes I let them, sometimes I just laugh at them, sometimes I tell them "HELL no!". I've also had a couple that I allowed to hunt that I had to turn around and tell they were no longer welcome.

Have you ever been there or do you know anyone that lives there?

Strong family ties in the whole area but no toothless, banjo playin, goofy lookin (well maybe some goofy lookin) folks in there.
There are however some highly educated and patriotic people that live there and they want to be left alone, nothing wrong with that

I might be able to hook you up with some satsumas, depending on what they make this year, but I haven't even had a camera out back where we hunt for several years, and last time I looked, the shooting house had about rotted down and needed a rebuild REAL bad!

Sounds like you need some retired dude to come and keep things up for you.
Let's see, who could that be?

Then what am I gonna do when I retire? I've collected a menagerie of animals, cleared and planted an orchard, semi-cleared a food plot, and I have at least 3 other major projects looming, all in preparation for retiring to "the easy life"! *L*

Dunno about now, but a few years ago, all I got on camera was 6 or 8 does, a few yearlings, and one little bitty forkhorn with antlers about the diameter of a pencil...oh, and the neighbor's 2 dobermanns chasing them from in front of the cameras...had a LOT of pics of that!

You're not preparing for the easy life, you're setting up a second career!
I done told you, when you retire, get rid of anything that eats.

If you catch poachers in the act then call the sheriff's department. They consider trespassing to be a "crime in progress" and will dispatch a deputy immediately. At least that is what they do in Montgomery County.

Actually some of my bestest fondest memories was in walker County in the late 80s. I worked up there a lot and I was still single.
The first stripper I ever met was in Dora, the Red Barn. My first bar room fight was in the Horseshoe club in Jasper.
The first jealous husband who tried to kill me was in Carbon Hill.
