That's my name minus the -ie, so that's why I want it. My best advice is to leave them alone. They crazy! Just remember, you are a minority race in Wilcox county. The Red Creek and Dixon Creek bunch is not to be messed with. I know of a hunter shot in their direction (while they were helping them hunt) their lease. He came back to hunt a week later in Dad's new 3/4 ton diesel crew cab truck. When he came out of the woods to the truck he found no glass in truck, all tires on truck and trailer slashed and everything not nailed down taken.

Maybe towards the end of the season you could invite some friends that wouldn't be afraid to help you declare your sovereign property. Middle of the week all the way thru the last days.

I am going to head down that way Friday morning and hunt through Monday. Being new to hunting that part of the state, I hear that around MLK Holiday is when it starts picking up.

From the 15th on it will just get better. The best 4 days last year for us (20 miles from you) were the 26th thru the 29th.
The guys on here are correct about the native population down there. Rough area. Lots of porch sitters that would rather steal than work. Heck I think a bunch of them steal just for fun and recreation. Lots of guys just leave their camps unlocked and take everything of value with them when they come and go. Otherwise, you're constantly replacing windows and door frames instead of spending your time hunting.

Yeah that is what I understand....I have camp in a small hunter camp where the owner and her son reside full time. He claims they have never had a problem. I do however know better than to leave my truck insight of the road on any of those properties. I just leave my truck unlocked with nothing of value in it. Are you north or south of me there? We are N of you on 5. Next road N of Gamble Rd. We take pigs all the time to the Gamble's and other assorted locals at the body shop/auto repair/burn barrel location on 5. Take some also to the Roadhouse store/caf� just north of us going toward Catherine.
My Dad's family is from Arlington and most of the advice you've been given is correct. Don't leave anything and don't lock your camper. Contact the pastor of a church near your camp and ask for the names of some locals you can make a small donation to (meat, disk up their garden, help them somehow) and you may have an easier time of than some who wouldn't roll down the window to speak to them or stop if they were broke down.
People are people. There are good and bad. Get in with the right good ones and you may have no trouble. Met a guy who had several camps in downtown Lower Peachtree and had NO problems (allegedly) but they had a local who worked for them full time as a caretaker.

I live only a couple of miles from there if you get tired of hunting and wanna fish pm me. I have a place that we may could catch a fish and enjoy meeting new people.
