I've got a heat pump, but it's a hybrid where my AUX is a gas furnace instead of the strips. So, I just flipped it to AUX HEATING a few days back and it has stayed nice and cozy.

Last time we had some cold weather like this our gas bill at the shop was $1000. Probably will be this month too. We turn them down to 40 at night and up to 55 during the day. [/quote]

Turn it off and tellem if they'll move faster it won't be cold, that's what I do.
My guys are used to being out in service trucks, they're just glad to be in outta the wind when they get a chance.

Our Dec bill was $109. I imagine Jan and Feb will be a good bit higher.

That's right, if you're working you won't be cold.
I've spent the past few days outside in a short sleeve shirt. Long as I'm busy, it's all good.

I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.

One due is $318.00. I'm sure the next one will be close to $600.00.

I am sure mine will be pretty steep. The heat pump has run pretty constant the past several days. I just adjusted my pool pump a month or so ago, but it comes on automatically when the temp is below 34 so it has been running nearly constantly the past few days also.

Tried that, and had pipes freeze as a result.

summer & winter, right? see below, re: house w/bad insulation & bad windows/doors ... was the $10-12k from a contractor for new windows? man i built my own 2300 sq ft house & put in Pella double-paned windows & it was nowhere near that much

I don’t remember who gave the quote. But I ran the numbers and knew we would be moving so it wasn’t justifiable.

My cousin just built his house and had spray foam put in. His power bill was 60. He also has a gas unit which costs about 300 every 4 months.
