Just got my power bill yesterday and it's basically double last month's ($280 vs. $140). My first thought was I had forgotten to pay the month before, but nope...the usage is through the roof (heat pump). Has anyone else gotten a bill lately reflecting units trying to keep up with this cold? well your heat pump is set not to run below a certain temperature, and that is when your heat strips kick on, so it is probably more heat strip usage in combination with your heat pump usage. Do you have a smart thermostat?
