One of those laws that don't apply to me so if I've read it I don't remember but is it a violation to be hunting while intoxicated?? How would a GW check, call for a State Trooper? If so, what would the charge be called?

I�ve been on a bunch of dove hunts where folks were drinking beer, I don�t think there is a specific hunting law against it.
Now, if you got checked by a warden and you were clearly intoxicated then I guess he could write you a public intox ticket???

When I went through the Montgomery police academy we had 3 game wardens come and take the dui classes with us to get them qualified to deal with that

When I went through the Montgomery police academy we had 3 game wardens come and take the dui classes with us to get them qualified to deal with that I was thinking they might need the State Trooper for the equipment but I was just speculating they wouldn't have it.

I've never been to a dove shoot that there wasn't drinking happening I don't think. I've never had a warden say anything about it when being checked at one either.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

I been checked plenty of times on dove fields even sat and drank beer while shooting while GW was checking other guys shooting with me. We were in a dry county but all he said was just get a DD for the ride home which we did. He never said squat about us doing anything wrong.

I was just curious because of some things I've seen in the past. Not something I NEED to know. That applies to driving. The only crime I could see is if the level of intoxication is so high and the person is shooting a gun with others around then reckless endangerment could apply. Public intox applies to public area so if you are not on private property then that could be a charge.

Yes Sir, they do have them and you will see them used and more "DUI" checks on the water around here - Lake Eufuala - then any where else. Almost every holiday/holiday weekend during the summer.

If you blow over a .049er and are trying to fill out a harvest record they�ll get you for drinking and checking. It�s even more severe if you don�t have a pen.
