Jawbone, is it a requirement to announce when/where roadblocks will be conducted?
And do all agencies participating in a roadblock have to file a plan separately, or do the agencies piggyback after Agency X writes one and Agencies Y, Z and A jump in with them?

If the money comes from NHTSA through ADECA then strict guidelines are supposed to be followed. One of these is a public announcement of when and where they are to be conducted. I don't think everybody follows the guidelines correctly. Of course if they are not operating it under the grant money, they can make their own guidelines as long as they follow the law. Yes, they can piggyback off each other. Only one agency would be required to file the plans and others can participate as needed. They may include the other agencies participation in the filed plans or may include them later for additional help but only one set of plans needs to be filed. I guess it would help to explain that the money comes from NHTSA to ADECA who then distributes it to 4 or 5 Traffic Safety Committees throughout the state. Op plans are filed and approved and funded through these area Traffic Safety Committees. Each Committee has all the equipment needed (signage, etc.) to work an op as prescribed by ADECA that is available to each participating agency. For the record, G&F would not be a participating agency in the ADECA program. It is strictly for traffic enforcement, not game laws, drug violations, etc. That is not to say they can't participate along side the others and look for game violations.

so let me get this right.. not that I am a doing anything illegally, if I get stopped at any road block all I have to do is give them my license and insurance and never say a work or nod my head? if I look straight forward the entire time not doing anything, will they not get leery of something and could they do anything.

To be clear, if it is just a license check, that would work, although they will ask you questions to get you to speak to see if they can smell alcohol. Also some roadblocks are safety checks and they may tell you to hit your brakes and check the lights, then there are some extreme exigent circumstances where they have set up a road block looking for an escaped convict for example. They would be justified in being a little more intrusive in those. For example, asking you to open your trunk.

Isn’t it simply avoided by:
Warden: “you been hunting?”
Me: “no, I don’t hunt”
Warden: “ok”
No need for the follow up question asking for hunting license

And depending on the exigent circumstances and level of probable cause, they don't have to ask. If probable cause exists, no warrant is needed to search a vehicle. That is one of the main exceptions to the warrant requirement.

You ARE required to have a Pen or Pencil and PAPER Harvest Record in possession during your hunt according to the Mandatory Game Check sheet I saw. That is INCORRECT You need either a Harvest Record or the Game Check App while hunting. Once you've killed an animal, it must be recorded via either the app or paper record prior to moving the animal. Not having a pen/pencil is not a violation http://www.eregulations.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Mandatory-Game-Check2.pdf OK slowpoke, lets try this ONE more time. That you referenced is NOT the regulation on Game Check/Harvest Record....that is someone else interpretation of of how THEY thought it went. NOT what is in the written regulation. FAILURE TO HAVE A PEN OR PENCIL IS NOT/NADA/NEYT A VIOLATION OF THE REGULATION AS WRITTEN IN THE STATE RECORD. Comprehende??????? ok smart ass, I stand corrected. I'm sure if I get checked with a dead deer and tell them "sorry, my phone died and I couldn't use the app" they'll just let it slide? Not a smart a.. he is just smarter than you. Would have been to hard to just admit making a mistake and move on?

I get checked at a roadblock and asked to see a pen or pencil, I think I'll ask to borrow one from the GW.

I ain't got no buddies in there, and yer supposed to carry yer Harvest Record with you IF YER DEER OR TURKEY HUNTING. You didn't tell em you were DEER hunting did you???
I didn't tell him I was hunting anything. I'm pretty sure the turkey vest, turkey calls and shotgun were a dead giveaway.

CAN SOMEBODY.. PERHAPS TROY, JAWBONE, DOEKILLER PLEASE POST A LIST OF WHAT OUR RIGHTS ARE AT THESE ROADBLOCKS.
I WANT TO KNOW WHAT I can respectfully say no to GW at roadblock. Im not hunting and no way would I allow somebody to check my vehicle. Can we request to record all conversation? I GUESS IT WOULD BE GREATLY BENEFICIAL TO KNOW WHST RIGHTS WE HAVE???
...and FYI I now keep my ink pens in the cup holders of the chairs I sit in. Frikin Ink Pens are in the woods where I hunt!!!

Of course you can audio/video record a conversation with them; there are lot's of them on Youtube I always enjoy when I am dealing with some customer service rep at a financial institution or someone that solicits me and they say the conversation may be recorded for "quality control" purposes; I tell them I don't mind if they don't mind me recording them. Usually throws them off; I use Call Recorder app.
