Admittedly, I have not read this article in detail. But, I've seen data indicating that a high percentage of people who really retire, not just change jobs, at a lower than average age, have a contributing health issue. This may skew the mortality numbers. There's bound to be a lot of truth in that. I had no intention of retiring at 62, but it happened entirely due to health issues. And I will probably die younger than most due to those same issues and someone will include me in a study that "proves" retiring early is bad for your health. Be skeptical of everything you read now days. Someone with an agenda can prove whatever they want.
All the labor of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled.
