Just read an article that men who retire early have 20 percent higher mortality. I thought 55 at one time but I’m thinking 65 to 67 now. Not because of this article but I want to maximize my Social Security. Here’s the article. I do think people who retire sometimes are much less active and that’s what gets them. Seen it a bunch in my family. If you can stay active in retirement, do it. Some people’s jobs are bad for their health, stress wise.

Admittedly, I have not read this article in detail. But, I've seen data indicating that a high percentage of people who really retire, not just change jobs, at a lower than average age, have a contributing health issue. This may skew the mortality numbers.

If you're looking forward to retirement and thinking that it's going to be the ultimate lifestyle, you're living life wrong. I don't think I'd ever retire, I'd just work part-time and at my own pace

It's quite a ways off for me, but will be here eventually.

Traffic gets substantially worse every year as well. If I was gonna move again and retire, it would be to Waterloo,AL or Clifton,TN

I need 6 more years and hope I make it that long. If I was gonna move again and retire, it would be to Waterloo,AL or Clifton,TN Both are nice. Waterloo is pretty remote. Clifton is just a little ways from my lease and that's a nice area of TN.

Its actually a struggle figuring out what I'm gonna do on a day to day basis but if you can stay busy youll be ok.

Retirement is great if you can afford it. Make sure you pay off ALL debt before you retire. You can live pretty cheaply if all your income is YOUR money.
