That is why I stressed about a violent DV conviction. For example, I had a police applicant that had an old DV Harassment conviction on his record. Looked at the time to be a good applicant but I called the previously mentioned ATF agent to see if that was a disqualifier. He checked with our federal prosecutor for the South Alabama District and six months later they said "No he's fine". Unfortunately, there was some other stuff that disqualified him. But his right to still carry a firearm has been made clear. I advised him to keep the letter saying so with him when he possessed a firearm. The fed attorney explained that if there is a question, they look at each case on its individual merits.

What happened in his case was he and his wife got into a fight and she pushed him and he pushed her back. Both agreed this is what happened. No one was seriously hurt but they both received some minor marks/bruising. Before Alabama law pretty much mandated LEOs to determine the primary aggressor, it was common for them to arrest both parties to solve the immediate problem. This was a long time ago, and DV convictions, before it was included as a federal firearm rights disqualifier, were included and retroactive(sorry you have to read that sentence slowly). A lot of LEOs lost their jobs because overnight they could no longer carry a firearm over something that happened a long time ago.

Pretty sure a DV conviction involving choking will be considered violent.

JT, you don’t have to answer anything but I think the two main things everybody is wondering is....

Did you kill the deer with a rifle or a bow?
We’re you hunting the WMA on dec 5th with a rifle?

Maybe just tell the story of how the hunt went down. Like I said, you don’t have to answer anything to bunch of guys on an Internet forum but you could certainly set the record straight if you wanted to!

Yea JT, just tell us the story of the hunt when you killed the buck, and explain the part where you were gun hunting on the wma on a non gun hunting day back in December 3rd. That’s all we want to know

If you haven’t done anything wrong and you haven’t lied about anything, then you have nothing to worry about. You could stop all this by addressing and explaining a couple of things.

I don't have a dog in this fight, and could really care less, but any fellow that's been accused of the things that's been thrown around in this thread, and won't give a straight up answer, has already answered your questions. JT, I'm not coming down on you, and you can do what you want, but the best thing you can do for yourself is either man up and answer these boy's questions straight forward, or stop throwing fuel on this dumpster fire of a thread. Just my opinion and friendly advice to you. Take it for what you paid for it.

Yes, DV 3rd is a misdemeanor and DV 2nd is a felony. Also if you get 2 DV 3rd convictions the second is considered a felony. Even though it's a misdemeanor, DV 3rd conviction forfeits your right to possess a gun

I hunted with a guy named Dax around 15 years ago down that way, with the Guy who invented the "Scent Wizard" scent dispenser.

And bc when I try and explain my side no matter what it gets twisted around and Become a liar. No matter what I say. Treat me like shucks then you get the same back. You asked nicely and was respectful so I’ll address a few things.
1. The Buck was Killed legally on the Wma with my bow. The damn warden even seen it. I was showing him off. He’s the new warden for the area. That should solve everything. And also about my bow being broke ...Which all I’ve shot is Hoyt’s since i started shooting around 11-12 years old. I have 3 bows. So just bc one broke doesn’t mean I don’t have two more. V-tech X-tech and my youth one from when I was younger.
2. About my dog being on the Wma.. I didn’t know I was or wasn’t allowed to have my dog on the Wma. I figured it was the most effective way to recover my deer and it was.
3. I am allowed to possess a firearm. My DV case was thrown out completely and if you ALDEER detectives can’t find out about how she almost went to jail for filing a false police report and contempt of court or perjury.
And that was one of the worst days of my life. For y’all too bring that up when you have no clue what went on that night is very low... I NEVER HAVE CHOKED A FEMALE. NEVER. So drop that shitttt quick..
4.i only have one charge on my record and that a public intox. Athenother two times I was arrested it was thrown out.

So therefore none of y’all really know anything about me except what I lied about last year and the pff forum where I was young dumb and talk shioittttt when I shouldn’t have.

If someone would meet me in person they would see what kind of man I am. Anyone who hunts the Wma inbox me and I’ll be glad to meet up with you.

And for whoever the guy earlie in the thread that said I walked up to him while he was in his stand and I blocked the road with my truck at the gate ... and also stole a camera?!?!? Noooo definitely wasn’t me. I’m not a thief. I drive a big Black GMC Sierra.
