I love the rut. The woods are like a bunch of roided up meatheads fighting over a girl.

One old boy named Bennett Hare claimed his club killed 365 deer in one day. 59 members. This would be right up old John's alley.

The problem with lying is that you have to remember your own lies. ... I suppose he could of went back to the truck and swapped out the rifle for a bow, or had a bow kill that evening.. but ihighlyfreakingdoubtit.

The fact is he could of just stuck with the truth and been fine. But once you change your story just a little, weather it needs it or not, it will catch the hell you with you in a hurry. People may be stupid, but not the Aldeer Detective Agency... They'll get on a trail quicker than IdahoMikes tracking dogs.

We all know it is completely normal behavior to gun hunt a clearcut with a food plot 100 yards away from you in the morning and then say "you know what, I'm gonna switch to the bow this evening." And then hunt the same spot.

He also posted on November 30 that he fell and broke his bow. He could have replaced it I guess, but this deer was shot with a rifle. No doubt

I've observed that there are people who would swim across a river for no other reason than just to tell another man a lie.

I don't always hunt the line, but when I do, I make sure I'm close to my neighbor's 8 acre bean field.

I've been keeping tabs on this thread, and yes of course it's entertaining, but I have pity for the guy as well. He owned up to his previous mistakes and I appreciate and respect the guy for that.

JT - There are a bunch of good folks on here. I'm confident in saying that the vast majority would give you the shirt off their back. I'm sure there are a handful of turds that slip through the cracks but that can be said for any group of people, anywhere. Collectively we'd like nothing more than to believe your post(s) and celebrate with you on this kill, and I'll reiterate my earlier post: If it's an honest stand-up legal kill - hell yeah - Congratulations on a great public land buck. BUT like others have mentioned, people will be suspicious if stories/pictures/timelines don't line up, and it is looking like they may not be. Just my 2 cents. And please don't take this is as a shot at you. Lord knows I've stomped on my own di-- way too many times to point fingers at anyone else.

i agree; i know people that'll swim a river just to tell a man that they never make a mistake nor lie about anything & that they're without fault.

JT - celebrate your kills on your own & don't count on this msg board giving you any credit for chit ... i agree w/mcninja, if you came by this buck honestly, that's celebration enough ...

JT, some of us are trying to give you the benefit of the doubt. Would appreciate an explanation. If you killed it on Clem's land, just tell us.

Dang..Im confused...he shot it with a gun or a bow?

He tracked it illegally on a WMA with a dog?

He killed it between Dusk and daylight? Or do I have that backwards?

He killed it on Clems land?

Someone please clarify... popcorn
