I am one of the asswipes that stayed home. Moore is a joke and couldn't vote for the guy. So he will hopefully ride off into the sunset on his stupid horse and never get involved in politics again....and we all know that ain't gonna happen...ugh. Roy Moore was a flawed candidate from the get go. He was for sure. That still doesn't explain how someone that calls there self a republican votes for Jones. I would love to hear someone on here that did explain how they squared that in there mind.

The ones who voted for Moore in the primaries deserve the blame. This ^^^ I would have never voted for Moore in the primary but when most of the state did, that become our option to work with. Prime example of why not everyone should have the right to vote, to many people don't have enough sense to understand the responsibility. You should have to be a property owner or a veteran to vote, at least have some skin in the game so to speak. Think of how different this country would be

Oh.....I am also a proud deplorable I totally understand what your saying and in principle agree. However, that thought process is the problem. By staying home and not voting because Moore is a joke or attempting a �write in� was basically a vote for Jones. One thing about the Dems is they stick together and get their base out to vote. Whereas we Republicans sit back and complain about the candidates, complain about the Republican establishment and then throw up our hands and walk away. As long as The Republican Party remains fragmented as it is today, we will see many more Dem victories like yesterday.

You're not mature enough to make a difference if you're gonna write in Mickey Mouse or some gay shucks like that. That's people trying to be sharp. Then they post it to Facebook or social media, people like or share it, it gives them instant gratification. Makes them feel popular and cool because they wrote in mickey mouse or whoever the hell they wrote in. They feel good because they are the talk of the interweb. It's all about how it makes them feel and the attention they get vs actually making a grown up decision and voting between the two candidates listed. It makes me sick.

The People of the State of Alabama - The most Conservative of the bunch in the end are the ones who are likely to be responsible for the demise of all the Judges and possible Supreme Court Nominations who will now not get confirmed as well as Trump himself, who we helped elect, not get much if any of his agenda passed.
That's Irony.
I can't wait for the complaining to begin out of those that didn't vote because they didn't like either candidate and are "tired" of being told they have to choose between 2.
Maybe now they'll see what that really gets them... and possibly the rest of the Country right along with them.
You've got to help choose the direction you want this country to move in OR that choice will be made for you. It is that simple.

I did not vote yesterday. I'm sure plenty here feel that is the worst thing a person could do, and I understand that. I used to feel that way too. But here's why I did not vote. First of all, I am a Christian and I hold to the convictions of my faith strongly. I have never believed that Roy Moore's antics (going back to the 10 Commandments issue) were rooted in his deep commitment to his faith or his convictions. I have always believed it was grand-standing for political gain. Doing that is essentially whoring out Christianity for your own needs, wants, or desires. Even before all of the alleged stuff with being a creep toward teen girls years ago, I did not feel good about voting for him.
Doug Jones, it is very simple. The man is running for office for a party that openly embraces murder of unborn children, and he himself supports it. I will not ever vote for a candidate that is tied to that.
So, I was left with choosing to vote between 2 candidates who both violated my faith-based convictions or writing in a candidate, which is waste of time. I believe that holding strongly to my convictions is more honorable than going to place a vote for someone who violates them. I understand that men have fought and died in battle over the centuries to preserve our way of life that includes freedom to vote that some nations do not have. I'm sure those same men did not also wish to fight and die so that their fellow countrymen years later would have to decide between candidates that both violate their consciences and convictions.
I will also add, that I will NEVER vote for someone who violates my convictions just to push a political party through. If the Republicans want my vote, stop putting terrible candidates out. That's my message.

MY opinion is that Moore lost because of all of the harassment accusations. Not because he is a "bad candidate", "idiot", or whatever else he has been called. The people that looked hard enough at him to form an educated opinion hopefully also looked at Jones enough to determine that like it or not Moore was the best choice we had.
What I think happened, is A LOT of people either didn't vote, wrote in someone, or voted for Jones because they believed that Moore was some kind of sexual predator, due to all of the media attention.
I want to add that I am not saying he is guilty or not guilty of that crap that happened decades ago.

Well sorry to tell you, this was a vote on reversing Obamas policies...not putting Roy Moore in office. Some folks just do not realize how the world and politics work. So by not participating we get another dem left wing liberal senator, lose another senate seat, capitulate to all the LEFT WING Soros money and Schumer SENATE MAJORITY PACT money that came into the state. So you just believe any accusations against someone based on unsubstantiated and even DEBUNKED accusations? Ever hear of DUE PROCESS? INNOCENT until PROVEN GUILTY!??? And as far as not voting for Jones and abortion,,...well your INACTION will keep libs and abortions happening! Here's my message. You should of never voted for anyone in the past and you will never vote again if you use those standards. All politicians, left and right are whoring felons who rape the citizens of this country with every breath. I won't let you stand on your "convictions" as a defendable alter because that alter fell a long time ago in the world of politics.
