Go to urgent care and get a shot of toradol and zofran. That's what my wife gives me.

There's solid science behind that...look it up.

When all else fails, I use Afrin nose spray and then put Tiger Balm on my forehead, temples, jaws, and the back/nape of my neck.

Attacks the migraine from multiple angles because of its multiple potential causes.

I had them for years. Would last weeks at a time. I got diagnosed with celiac disease and once I took gluten out of my diet they were gone.

I have had them for years. Went to dr and he diagnosed as "cluster headaches". Gave me muscle relaxer and pain reliever. All that did was make me feel funky. Wound up going to chiropractor for about 3 months...headaches finally subsided. Idk if it was adjustments or the headache just cycled out? Been about 4 months since last adjustment and headaches have returned with a vengeance. Dunno what gluten is, so I don't know if I eat it or not? Blood pressure was great the week of thanksgiving when I went for physical. I'm ready to try the sex cure mentioned above.

Don’t mean to beat a dead horse here but I’m telling you if you go get a shot of toradol it will be nearly gone by the time you can get home. And you won’t feel goofy or tired.

Go to the doctor get an MRI/MRA brain to make sure you don’t have a leaky aneurysm. Free medical advice from an ER physician.

Can't stress this enough--your brain is too important to ignore these symptoms. If testing confirms it is migraine, there are some great drugs like sumatriptan (Imitrex) that control it for lots of people. If it is a leaky aneurysm, you could be risking a catastrophe like a stroke. You probably don't ask a doc for deer hunting advice, why ask us hunting yahoos for medical advice? Get yourself to a professional.

Probly is a true migraine if lasting for more than 12 hours. If so, no amount of Ibuprofen or Tylenol or Goody's will touch it. Opioids don't work great because they don't attack the problem but just dull it while the drug is at maximum potential.

I have about 20 years of experience with them and neurologists and get both the garden variety migraines and cluster headaches. If pain starts in the same spot every time with the same symptoms...migraine. If it moves around...MRI needed.

Imitrex or most triptan drugs will stop them in an hour or so if taken as soon as you feel the signs.

Clusters are different and can go full blown in 5 minutes. Dig a knuckle into both your temples and hold and you will get a taste of what they start out like. They can hit you for days to months on end at the same time daily and can ruin your day for you and those around you.

A shot of the Tordol at the ER will break one up.
A couple of the newer treatments are high flow oxygen inhaled
deeply and for clusters, a 3 day dose of the steroid prednisone prescribed by Dr. breaks the cycle for me.

Chiropractor saved my life from migraines. Mine would last for 3-4 days and I couldn’t function at all. Haven’t had one since my first visit and that’s been 1.5 years ago

Midrin or Imitrex and 2 Aleve is what I take. Most of the time I just have to sleep them off. I have had several that lasted well over a week. I've also spent over a week in the hospital due to it messing my left eye up. When I was younger, I had one for over a week and it made left eye close and my eyeball turned left also. I've had 20-30 tests done to figure out what happened but have never got an answer. They first thought I had a stroke but that was later ruled out. My eye straightened back out after several months and have never had that happen again. I still deal with migraines several times a year. I would go to the DR.

I was having bad headaches and sleeping problems several years ago. I went to a neurologist in Huntsville. He gave me some samples and a scrip for a powder you mix with about 6 oz water. That stuff was amazing . I'd mix it up , drink it and less than 5 minutes it was like flipping a switch , headache gone, BAM! I'm sorry I don't remember the name . It was a new drug and very expensive , I never got the scrip filled.

"Why do you ask"?

Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.

FYI...Imitrex plus Aleve (Naproxen) equals the prescription drug Treximet which is a very good drug for migraine sufferers
