I'm not in tool sales, but started out with a sales territory that didn't produce anything. It all started with picking up the phone. I know it may be frustrating on your end, but a salesguy has no idea who else is calling you. Their only goal is to put food on the table.

What's crazy is the % of customer you will call 30 days after you called them originally and sent an email to say " I wish you would've called me last week. I just bought xxxx".



Yeah, I get that, so I try not to be rude until they become annoying about it. I don't mind emails so much, because I can check them at my own convenience when I have time to do so. Most times I send a P.O. via email anyway. It's the phone calls and hearing "John, there's some salesman here to see you". when I wasn't expecting one.
