Great question PCP, my son and I were just talking about this during muzzle loader week when we were hunting together.

But those land owners still have easy access to it - much like some of the .gov property out west is landlocked by private property owners. In this case the actions of a few allowed the locals reason to to gain control of public property.

I also believe the rising costs of land access will continue to keep people out of the woods. We have slowly been losing pieces of our lease and I hope we get to keep what we have left. Bottom line is it's the owners property to do with as he pleases, he can sell it if he wants, and with what it has sold for I can't really blame him.


So another question that I think of - Is this overall decline in deer hunting population an unintended consequence of QDMA? Is the increase in property costs related to the increase of quality bucks?
