Preacher, Hunting now is better than it ever was in the old days. Back then I hunted quail mostly, and squirrels. When I was young I would go on dog drives down around Livingston and Demopolis, but Deer were almost non existent in north and central Alabama. If you saw a deer track you went and got the family and everyone was amazed. It was illegal to shoot does. No one hunted with a rifle and only Mr Hill hunted with a bow, and that was out of state. I would love to take my grandson on one of the old fashioned quail hunts, with great dogs, and a wagon or jeep set up to chase the pointers, and the great comradery that we had back them. A kid was just as good as an adult except he had to wash dishes and fetch drinks. I wish that the State would get serious about supporting hunting again and actually start to manage our resources.
Let us cross over the river and rest in the shade of the trees Stonewall Jackson Hug your loved ones often, Life is short even on its longest days. I don't see the glass as half full or half empty. I just finish it and order another.
