What are you guys paying per year for a termite inspection/bond? We just paid ours for the year and the thought occurred to me that I might find a better deal out there. Ours runs $175 for approx 1700 sq. ft home.

Ours is $200 a year.

I dropped mine. Seems stupid. I�ve got a slab house. With my other house I had a basement and they�d walk down there for 5 minutes. I can do that for free.

I'm thinking this is where I'm headed. I can look at the joists from underneath with ease for free. The remediation coverage isn't so substantial that I can't lose it. But I thought I'd see if somebody was getting a much better deal that might change my mind about dropping it.

Just paid our yearly $350 of course that comes along with a home inspection and sentricon system checkup

I realized my bond didn�t cover remediation, so it�s not much use.

Make sure there is a remediation on the bond if not it's worthless. I have a slab and have had termite damage, cahaba valley termite made it right.

Most of them don�t have that. Agree it�s not worth a whole lot without it. You could make a helluva lot of money inspecting houses for a living like that. Poke a few 2x4s with a screw driver, get paid $150...

I have a slab and Terminex has saved my butt twice in 23 years on termite damage. They are one of the few companies that offer a replacement bond, i.e. pay for all the damage done. Like I said it has been twice and they honored it with no problems. I just paid for the next year at $318. A lot higher than others but locally all the other "bonds" get rid of the termites, but don't cover the cost of the damage. I'm assuming the term y'all are using "remediation" has something to do with this, but I've never heard it before.

Yep, you want a bond that pays to restore the structure. Money well spent.

My company charges 177.50 for the yearly renewal

200 for me and terminex..

I'm in a high termite area and mine is over $300 and includes Formosan and subterranean. It was transferred to me when I bought the house. If I dropped it and went with another company I probably couldn't get the Formosan coverage again.

I paid $195 for the "5 minute walk through a year" folks for a few years and then termites hit. They fixed the damage. I then went with Cooks (can't remember the cost now) with the feeders implanted around the house. It's not a matter of "if", but "when" termites hit.

$125 to 200 dollars depending on the house.

Honestly guys, Im a builder and renovate and flip houses. Its what I do 24/7/360.

The termite treatment and bond is great. It can save you thousands.


Every building I build we pre treat the foundation, and then treat the building with termidor a couple years later with a bond. All the same company.

Any building I buy and OFFER for resale as a flip, I treat with termidor and get a transferable termite bond!

Anyone buying any of the houses I sell, can rest assured..your house IS treated and any damage will be covered as long as they pay the $125 to 200 per year!

I bought a building a few years ago. Termite inspection, no termites.

I noticed in the first 2 months a mound outside against the brick wall and slab.. called the termite guys as they were scheduled to treat it and YEP!

Termites. Just starting to set up camp, started the little dirt tunnels along the SLAB!

They came and drilled, treated it and gave it a bond.

I offer all my houses with a termite bond as well as a one year HOME warranty..including the dang home owners appliances!

Folks need to have a state of mind that things are covered. Those termite bonds can save you $10,000 to 20,000 K or MORE.

But I recommend to all my customers..its the South..its not IF youll have termites..IT IS WHEN!

Cover your butt. Its sure cheaper then dang health insurance , but can be awful expensive if you arent bonded!

Heck, I even treat and have bonds on all our rental properties. Crazy not to I think. You CANT SEE termite damge. They are eating you dang wall studs.

If you see them eating and causing tunnels on your drywall? Guess what? Its too late..THEY RAN OUT OF WOOD TO EAT!

By the way, Ive walked away from SO many deals as either termites or wood eating fungus were eating or had ATE the dang house up..when my termite and home inspector do their inspections.

Last one was $ 6,800 two months ago. The dang floor joists and main beam under the center of the house you could push your finger through.

Home owners never knew. 12 floors joists and the main center beam!

If you jumped up and down lightly..you could FEEL the give in the house.

Had to walk away from the deal, as they didnt want to cover it. And that was at my pricing. m sure they had to pay 10K or more.
