My 2 boys are driving me crazy about hunting with their AR's. I know this has been discussed on here before but I don't know how to search for stuff on here. I bowhunt 99% of the time so I don't have clue. I know we need 5 round capacity mags, but what grain ammo is best? Any help is appreciated.

Is the 5 round mag a law? I couldn't find anything on it. My brother and me were discussing yesterday

I thought it was a 10 round mag. My daughter an I use an AR 10 but I was thinking 10 round mag for some reason. Ammo wise I like the fusion or rem core lock.

There is no magazine capacity limit. I use Barnes TTSX in mine.

People always claim there's a magazine limit law. I've never been able to find it.

On public land hunts, they limit mag size to 10.

On public land hunts, they limit mag size to 10. Not true. There used to be a limit. There isnt anymore. It was removed from the regulations a few years ago.

My daughter hunts with my AR15 and she killed her first deer a couple weeks ago. I shoot the 62gr federal fusion. She shot her buck at 170yds and dropped him right there. That bullet made a mess of that deer. I've also killed lots of hogs with it. I will not hesitate to shoot a deer with it.

I shot one with the hog hammer ammo and it did a number on it.

Public land has, or had, a 10rd magazine limit. Private and private lease lands are unlimited capacity for magazines. I like 20s. They don't have to be full but if you have hogs, it helps. I rarely use 5.56 for deer but the Barnes coppers and Ferderal fusions get my nod.

At first glance I thought you said "No bag limit" for using an AR15.

If a bow and arrow will kill a deer, Im quite certain an AR will But do you use broadheads or field points? Bullet selection is very important with the .223/5.56 and shot placement more so.

I'm pretty sure WMAs do have a limit of 10 round magazines.

I'm pretty sure WMAs do have a limit of 10 round magazines. They don't, they used to buy don't anymore.
If you’re a common sense person, you probably don’t feel you have a home in this world right now. If you’re a Christian, you know you were never meant to.
