I just got a call from the officer I met yesterday. He wanted to clarify that out of state residents do need a license, and he verified mine shortly after our encounter. The mistake was that there were 2 officers I met with and each thought the other had checked my license and we all misinterpreted the conversation.

I would like to reiterate that my encounter was nothing but professional and I had zero issues with how either officer acted. I was confused about how some things were handled (ID and license) and apparently so were they. All is well that ends well.

Maybe I'm confused or I missed it In all the posts above, but if he didn't know you and you didn't know him, and he didn't check your identification, how did he know how to get in touch with you. Especially being out of state?





Kind of a wierd deal as they never checked my ID or for proof of ownership, but that is beside the point. Regulations say if you are an out of state resident you must have a valid non-resident license. Do these guys know something I don't?
