I would guess that the Game Warden is either cutting landowners some slack and not pushing that particular issue. Or maybe he was more interested in verifying other information and once you made the cut he was convinced that you are a law abiding hunter and was ready to move on.
Had a similar encounter this weekend, but with a 65+ year old member. I figured they were prob just looking for bait, and we dont use bait so the License check was just secondary

You do have to have a copy on you. Buddy got a warning Saturday for it and my wife got a warning for fishing without hers. She had it on her phone and showed it to them but she still got a warning.

What if you own the land, reside in another state and have an AL lifetime hunting license?
not sure what the best way to handle them is but they shouldnt be on tv and gettn married and raisin kids

Lifetime license is good even if your move out of state.

Electronic copy of your license is fine but you need either the app or a paper copy of the Harvest record.

The internet is an amazing thing-
I just got a call from the officer I met yesterday. He wanted to clarify that out of state residents do need a license, and he verified mine shortly after our encounter. The mistake was that there were 2 officers I met with and each thought the other had checked my license and we all misinterpreted the conversation.
I would like to reiterate that my encounter was nothing but professional and I had zero issues with how either officer acted. I was confused about how some things were handled (ID and license) and apparently so were they. All is well that ends well.

some of ya'll would bitch about just about anything. Troy it reminds me of one of the moments I'll never forget. A young officer calls me all in a fluster about what to do because he stopped a woman for running a red light and decided to give her a written warning. She frustrated him because she refused to sign the warning. As I recall he figured out the solution before I had to explain in simple terms. Citation and then no signature means going to the pokie to make a cash bond.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.
