My son's been hunting with me off and on the last 4 years and we've yet to see a deer when he was with me. Never thought I'd resort to this but I'm looking for somewhere to do a one or two day hunt so he can atleast see some deer. I dont think its bothering him as much as it is me. We have fun when we go but public land isn't the place to try to get a kid on his first deer...

Do a school hunt. My son and I went on the Gordo high band hunt and had a good time. I shot a couple of does. Terry Turner is a member on here and is over it. PM him

Private land ain’t much better. Been working 3 years to improve the hunting up here. He’s seen one deer that never stopped running so obviously no shot.

I use to guide at a pay to hunt place in alabama. Your odds honestly won't be much better. I'm not sure where you hunt but maybe joining a club somewhere that has higher numbers would be your best option. You could join a club for a year for what you would pay to hunt for three days.

What's your budget. You can always pay to go to enon plantation. There's also a place called shady grove outfitters that are pretty good.

I've never even priced it. Can you do 2 days for a $1,000?

Shady grove is affordabw and they kill a few good ones each year and have hogs. I do think enon is kind of pricey but don't know where to find pricing.

Enon was bow only. I don’t even think it is open to the public anymore.

If you have $1,000 for a weekend, you need to join a club.

Enon used to be bow only. But it has since been auctioned off. TR who does the pay hunts owns around 4500 acres of it and am about certain you can shoot rifles now.

No need to pay that kind of money....

There’s someone on here that will take you and your boy to their place, and get your boy a deer!

If I was in my old club in Vernon I would put y’all on em! But I got out end of last season...

He's 8 probably I'd try to keep it inside a 100 for it to be a slam dunk shot

Does he care if he sees a deer or not. My two would rather go walking around playing in mud than sit there and watch 10 of them
