I’m settled in here for the first hunt of the season. Set up in some hardwoods and next to a small beaver pond. This is my go to spot for start of the season. Always see deer here in groups.

Good luck out there guys. Looks my "bow season" is over. I'll still hunt with a bow a bunch, but it doesn't look like I'll be able to get back out there till the week of Thanksgiving. Hopefully something will change!

Hunted the same plot as yesterday afternoon. Saw one big doe right after daylight, but she was out of range. Got run out a little early by rain.

Happy Bday Shaw. Yours is easy to remember, cause it's mine also.

Set up on a white oak flat full of acorns. There’s a good bedding area 100 yards away, the acorns are still rainy down. Good luck and stay safe.

Set up on a powerline between to pine thickets. It's a major crossing area where deer from the north and west cross to go to hardwoods or circle around to get to a food plot that is south of me a couple hundred yards. It's 20 degrees cooler than my last sit on Monday.

Went back to that plot again. Wound up seeing 7. Emmett hunted another plot about a half mile from me and he saw 5. He shot a big doe at 4:15 and I shot one at about 4:25. First time we’ve ever doubled up. I know I’m a worn out white boy. It was hell getting them both out. It was one helluva way to spend my birthday and I wouldn’t have it any other way. We didn’t have anyone at the clubhouse to take our pic together. So I made him pose with them.
