All frats and sororities banned.
All alcohol banned on campus.
I say it's about time. Go get an education, stop the stupid parties.

seems a little excessive, but I agree that that something needed to be done.

Multiple deaths related to alcohol and drugs abuse tied to fraternity and or sororities.

I don't watch national news anymore, only local mainly for the weather. But thought I heard something like this (drinking and deaths) at Penn State.

That was actually my house. I was a Pi Kappa Phi, beta eta 958 chapter (FSU). From 1991-1993 What a sad legacy they have left. Lots of drinking at college but just not in Frat houses, its everywhere and this decision will not even put a dent in it. The pledge died at a private house the fraternity had zero to do with it, house parties are very common place in all college campuses.

This decision in my opinion is a knee jerk reaction of "something had to be done" type deal, but in reality nothing will change its FSU one of the biggest party schools in the nation.

Alabama's enrollment probably just made a jump. Especially once they see all the new houses they just built.

Yes. How is this different from the knee-jerk reaction from the anti-gun Left? Kid dies. Ban the Greek system. Then nobody will die. Texas shooting. Ban guns. Then only the police will have guns, and nobody will die. In both cases the culture needs to be changed. This is not going to stop the rampant drinking, drugs, and partying.

President of the university thinks we need to continue to make money. Football team sucks, so let's ban all alcohol along with frats and sororities.

That is the education you get at FSU. (sorry my team sucks too - Go Gators)

I'd like to see all of them banned nationwide, along with all athletic scholarships.
Go to school for an education. Play sports if you want, that's great, but let the coaches play the kids that go there for the education.

I'm not the one supporting liberal think of the children arguments.
