I just have to believe what I see. I spend 7 days a week in the woods and on the farm, which is heavily populated with coyotes. And that's just in the last two years. That doesn't include having my own private lease for the past 15 years. I just haven't seen evidence of coyotes actually killing a great deal of deer, or any larger animal at all. Coyotes are primarily scavengers and predators of smaller game. I'm not defending them by any means, I hate them for killing young turkeys and eating turkey eggs. But I hate to see any animal falsely accused.
I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.

I have a picture with 5 coyotes in it during the daytime. We don't see very many fawns around there. Nearly every afternoon we hunt the property you can hear several different packs howling all around but we hardly ever see them. I have seen one tote a fawn across a hay field but I have never witnessed a grown deer fall victim but I'm sure it happens.

Yotes will take full grown deer. How do you know? I mean I'm 49 years old and I spend a lot more time in the woods than most people. I have game cameras in woods almost year round. And I've never collected a shred of evidence that proves a Coyote will consistently kill a healthy mature deer.

Bankhead forest is ate up with coyotes. Ate up like crazy. At night, its unbeleiavable how many i hear and how many different packs i hear. Its insane. Way more in that forest than anywhere else in my experience hands down. Its like one big party for them at night.

Ive watched yotes chasing grown deer several times. I can guarantee they weren't chasing them for shits and giggles.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

Theres a video slideshow of yotes taking down a big buck from start to finish right in front of a trail cam. Oh and coydogs are not sterile. They just dont rear their young like coyotes do. Also dogs and yotes breeding cycle rarely coincides hence why the Woods aint overrun with coydogs
There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around??

Outback.......If coyotes aren't doing it, then what do you blame as the culprit for high fawn mortality rates in areas that are experiencing such?

Well it ain't my coy dog I was hoping to catch but I have a grey fox in one of my traps this morning and I'm trying to decide what to do with him. Do y'all think they have any significant impact on turkeys? I'm thinking about just turning him loose.

put a five gallon bucket over him, pull the trap out under it and free his leg.

After about 2 dozen attempts.....he eventually quit biting long enough to let me get the noose over his head and I got him pinned to the ground. I'd sure hate for one to latch onto my leg though.....dayum .....I turned him loose and he bounced off like he ok. His foot wasn't skint up or anything. We'll let him go catch mice and keep things balanced. I figure the more mice and moles, etc... he catches on my place the less there are to entice yotes to come in....the less there are to feed rattlesnakes, etc....

Just a guess, but you haven't tried to release a bobcat yet have you? Nope and I was just sitting here thinking about that same scenario... I bet bobcats get pissed.

Just a guess, but you haven't tried to release a bobcat yet have you? I've released a 20# bobcat with the bucket trick. Not a problem.
