I took Baker fishing yesterday, and while up river I smelled gas. This happened at the next few stops, but nothing seemed to be wrong with the motor or anything so we kept fishing. When I put the boat on the trailer, I lifted some of the lids to get stuff out and could smell it again pretty bad so I lifted the rear lid and gas was about an inch deep by the bilge. I am dropping it off this morning but what do you think it could be? I checked the hoses( that I could get to) and even the the fuel/water separator filter. I know it wasnt overflow or anything from over filling, only has a half tank in it. Anybody want to guess?

You might have either a seam in the tank that's leaking or the pick up cap where the line leaves the tank is leaking. Both of them get worse when you are stopping and going a lot (ie skiing). Just hope it's not a seam on the bottom of the tank. I'd bet it's the top cap.

Ethanol in blended gas will eat thru the fiberglass tanks in older boats.
