I don't think they have a single piece of fresh seafood on the menu. Everything is frozen.

Hate to tell y'all but if you eat seafood at any restaurant anywhere it's more than likely delivered to them frozen.

If you get snapper from the Bright Star it is always fresh. I've met the chef on several occasions and he has taken Mrs. Irish and I ona tour of the kitchen. They get fresh snapper delivered every day.

Same goes for George's place The Fish Market downtown. Everything is fresh. Mrs. Irish is good friends with George and he has his own trucks that run back and forth to the coast buying seafood. It's the only place in town that I will eat a raw oyster.

If you want quantity over quality go to Red Lobster, if you want real, fresh, seafood at a reasonable price, prepared by people that know how to cook, and care about what they are serving go to The Fish Market in downtown Birmingham. (We skip the other locations. They aren't the same.)

The Bright Star (Red Snapper)
The Fish Market (All their seafood)
Nick's West

Those are about the only places in Birmingham that I will order seafood.
