As an Eagle Scout that earned the rank at 16. I'm trying to think back what would go through my mind having a 16/17/18 year old female on campouts. I do remember liking girls very much at that time.

I see this as an attack from Satan himself. Anything the enemy can do to hinder boys from being men and leading their household spiritually.
I work with a Trail Life leader. He told at some conference recently the CEO of Trial life said they now have 35K members. Sadly in that time, 500K boys have left the Boy Scouts.
So do the math, 465K boys have a left an organization that grooms boys to become leaders. My hope and prayer are those boys have found another organization or a mentor to prepare them.

Most of those 500k didn't "Leave", their parents took them out of scouts.
It's not a sin for girls to learn how to tie knots and chit. Hell, as crazy as some of them are these days, they better learn how to do some stuff because they are going to be alone.

They live to burn societal norms to the ground. To do that, they always have to be mad at something. They think America is morally corrupt and evil to its very core. Right isn't right in their worldview. Look at movies and schools (and now Boy Scouts). Everything that they teach in our schools, everything they make into movies, the messages of the movies, the TV shows, the newspaper stories that they pick and how they spin them have one criteria: Does it tear down what is good and elevate what is evil? Does it tear down what is right and elevate what is wrong? Does it tear down the behaviors that lead to success and elevate the ones that lead to failure so that there is nothing left to believe in? What institutions do conservatives have they haven't attacked in an attempt to destroy it? In a nutshell: "You think America's good? We found something that's going to make you not believe that any longer. You think that the Islamic fascists are bad? No, no, no, this is why they do it. No wonder they fly airplanes into our buildings." It's this cult where you have to be mindlessly indiscriminate. Look at airports. We have to literally make ourselves stupid and pretend we don't know the grandmother with the crocheted Christmas sweater is less of a threat than the 24 year old angry looking middle easterner. We have to pretend boys are the same as girls because to admit that, you have to use a logical, discriminative thought process. It isn't that they aren't aware of all the things you and I are aware of...its that they have to reject all of that to stay in this 5 year old's utopian dumnba@@ land.
