I have only seen two deer fall within sight. One of those was the exact same thing this deer did, it was a liver hit. I pretty much back out and give every deer at the least an hour before I attempt to look. If its an evening hunt, that just gives time to go to camp and make a drink 
Only accurate rifles are interesting.
