Those dogs wouldn't chase a biscuit you threw in the yard. It was a hoot between what was said and what was reality.
It pisses some guys off. Never really bugged me. Just made me laugh. But I've seen not-so-good dogs cause friction in duck blinds.

There's a mental problem with men and their dogs. I ended up babysitting some guys who were day leasing a farmers pit cause the farmer really wanted to get them on some ducks. The guy had a "titled trials dog" and I'm sure that thing would run a mean trial. Put it in a duck pit, that thing didn't know which way was up.

I didn't care, cause I was there to help them and they wanted the dog out there.

We killed a few and that dog went out to retrieve one and sat under the mojo and would repeatedly jump up and get its head banged by the spinning metal wings. Didn't want to have anything to do with the duck. I had to leave the pit I was laughing so hard....someone had to go retrieve the ducks anyway.
