Maybe they've had a bad experience with folks bringing untrained, unruly dogs. I had a dog that was a natural with very little training that I couldn't take to a big shoot because I never could make her understand that when she saw a bird fall, it wasn't always mine and if I did shoot, she was headed out into the field looking for the dead bird. I only hunted her when I had a little spot that either myself or a couple of buddies hunted. If I really wanted to I could have made her a great dog, but I didn't have time and she was the family pet. I could see some people viewing a big hunt as a time to "train" their dog. Some people are just inconsiderate that way.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.
