End of the day, here's my suggestion. Don't go into business selling anything that can be easily ordered and delivered from an online store.
OR get big enough fast enough that you can buy in volume and have an online store as well.
People will tell you they want to buy local, then they'll come look at your product and order it off the Interwebs. They'll also tell you they want to buy USA made stuff, then they'll buy Chinese stuff online because it's cheaper.
