Well isn't it just revenue when officers write tickets for any offence? Let's not forget those quotas that do exist
Red lights are all I've worked on the last 18 years! I've heard from 4 different vendors of red light technology, sat through all their spills and know how they are installed and revenue is divided. Explain how you think you know more about them!
Keep in mind, the way they have backdoored this and made it civil means that the owner of the vehicle, not the driver is responsible. They don't have to ID the driver, just the owner.
A criminal citation can not be written to a car, it has to be written to a person, namely the driver. The car can be held, through the owner, responsible civilly though.

100 % approve of the cameras, if you drive by the laws you dont have to worry about the cameras, way to many people dont obey the laws. so you would be ok with me and other citizens ticketing and enforcing laws.

My family has gotten 4 letters in mail over the past few years. Never paid one and never will. It is violation of our law to have the cameras there.
It hasn't effected my credit score one single point and they date back almost 7 years now. I hope nobody in your family kills anybody from continually running red lights 5 family members and not one repeat offender over the past 15 years. But thank you for your genuine concern. Two of the tickets issued were friends of my kids driving their vehicles as well. I have always taught them that a yellow light means prepare to stop, not speed through the intersection, but some folks just never learn.

You think cameras at intersections are bad, just wait till your company vehicle is equipped with DriveCam. The camera is constantly taking video inside and outside the vehicle. If you suddenly stop, suddenly accelerate, swerve, hit a deep pothole, etc it instantly reverts to saving the recording from several seconds before the event to several seconds after the event. My employer then gets this video clip emailed to them at a fee of $60 per video. They review it and then contact that driver for remedial action. The company that I work for enforces a 4 second policy for separation between company vehicle and the lead vehicle. One of our guys got written up last week for slamming on the brakes at 16mph (the video shows speed) when some moron cut in front of him in stop and go interstate traffic. I would have raised mortal Hell but he signed the infraction paper.

They don't know who was driving but it was your car so you are guilty. Doesn't matter you where in China and it could have been any family member driving the car, you are "ticketed.". And people are OK with this???

So I went back and watched the video. She (my wife) clearly ran the red light. She crossed the bar as it was turning red. So my wife paid the ticket. I have also been told that someone my wife knows had the same thing happen, refused to pay and they suspended their license. (dunno if thats true) but I don't want to take the chance.

That's not true. There is no legal avenue to suspend a license over a civil violation, at least not one I can think of. They can fine, issue a summons for court and if you don't show, the judge can hold you in contempt, they can turn you over to a credit agency and that is about it. Hold on to the proof that she paid. Eventually that money will likely be ordered returned to you by a court.

There is very little that is correct in this post.
Make a bet. Red lights are all I've worked on the last 18 years! I've heard from 4 different vendors of red light technology, sat through all their spills and know how they are installed and revenue is divided. Explain how you think you know more about them! I think anybody that has made the decision to work on red lights or even in the Transportation field has to be mentally deficient...
