In the past, I have always used a lady's thighs for earmuffs. But, I figure I better get a real pair this year. I want to get a set that amplifies minor sounds while reducing the sound of a gunshot. Suggestions?

If you're going to buy muffs that amplify but also have a momentary sound suppressor at a certain dB level, don't buy chit and try to save money. You may get by with budget ammo or a $120 scope but your hearing is more important.
Howard Leight Impact Sport and the Walker's models are great. I have both and they work really well. Worth the money.
Don't buy chit or scrimp.
