I am looking to buy a .308 AR-10 rifle. I have considered just buying a new DPMS LR-308 Oracle, or a M&P 10. Both of those guns retail in the $650-$800 neighborhood online, so my price range for a used gun is less than that. Located near Montgomery. Thanks

PSA is gonna be the best bet for price
I would rather be tried by 12, than carried by 6.

As Bait57 said, Palmetto State has some deals. They have a complete lower for $159 and a complete upper for $299 both with free shipping. The lower would have to come to an FFL naturally. They have other uppers as well...the one for $399 looks like a pretty good deal to me. Hard to believe you can have an AR-10 for $460 plus a transfer fee.....

I considered PSA as well, but the majority of the reviews I read online were negative (which of course you have to take with a grain of salt). Does anyone have any experience with PSA uppers/lowers?

I only have 5.56 components from them. No issues fortunately.

I used their BCG and lower parts in my 223 Wylde I just finished and I am very pleased with them. There again, AR 15, not AR10.

I don't know about psa but I have a dpms lr 308 and it is super accurate and has never once jammed or failed to feed. I have probably ran 150-200 rounds through it. It will shoot a 3/4" group at 100 yards. And shoots about a 3" group at 300. I don't know what kind of group it shoots farther than that but I know I have no problem at all hitting a 12 inch plate at 500 yards. For what it's worth I have a Nikon monarch3 with the bdc reticle and shoot 150 gr hornady American whitetails and after punching in my data on the website, it hits exactly where it says it will at all yardages out to 500 yards and possibly farther but I haven't tried farther than 500. Killed a pile of pigs and quite a few deer with it too.
Yeah c’mon. Daniel White
