I have found lots of hollows with thousands of glass bottles in them. Are they likely old moonshine sites or just dumping grounds?

Probably hunters with shitty habits.
Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.

Just look above on the ridge for the old road bed where people used drive in there to dump trash

Sites that have large numbers of old bottles, with old being and important word, were often privy sites. Newer bottles would indicate a dump. The land I hunt once had a number of sharecropper houses and it is common to find old bottles, but not so old to be really desirable to a bottle collector.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

You could have stumbled onto a glass mine.
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

It's the elusive bottle sanctuary.

On Cahaba whenever you get down in the River bottoms there is glass and stuff everywhere. I assume it comes up when it floods. Along Valley creek there's basketballs. Go figure!

In the country back in the 70s most folks dumped their trash In the woods. I know my aunt and uncle did. Everything decomposed but glass.
