Which state do you think will have the very first lawsuit filed regarding this Great American Eclipse?
Who will get sued? School or Glass Manufacturer?
I'm picking Illinois and someone is suing a school system for not properly protecting their kids eyes or giving proper instructions.

I wonder how many schools required a parental permission slip before viewing? My son's did for the high school students and the school provided them with glasses. Neither my wife or I sent in a permission slip so I don't know if my son participated or not. Elementary kids were to be kept inside. My wife's class stayed inside and snacked on Sun Chips and Moon Pies. Additional info: At least half of the kids stayed home and virtually all of the African American children were kept home because the eclipse was the harbinger of something evil according to the parents.

One system required a note from parents if you didn't want them to see it. The school gave glasses to all 800+ students.

Our schools were out and I know the "liability" is the reason they were dimissed.

As much as small kids fidget and only half follow instructions I can see where a lot of little ones would pull their glasses down, not line them up correctly and all other manner of conundrums where they look directly at the eclipse unprotected. It may be years before the damage is seen for what it is.

I know of one system in Georgia that required one. Basically a CYA maneuver.

Grandson spiked a fever last night of 104 and ended up at East Alabama Hospital Emergency Room. While waiting to be called back, Daughter in law said 2 people were registered to have eyes checked for a burning sensation in them from eclipse yesterday. She did not expand on details or ages or other pertinent personal information but they were quickly seen and released with no apparent damage.
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Kids school was taking them all into the auditorium around lunch and they were gonna watch some kinda live stream of it.I went over and checked my kids out so we could sit Indian style in the driveway and stare at it with bare eyes.
