Get one that texts for a short time?
Do you mean the ones that send them to your phone?
Yeah or a surveillance cam that does the same if you have a way to power it. Text, email, etc. are all about the same now in cost and ease of setup. They are expensive but it may be worth it for a while.
I have no personal experience with any of them other than surveillance cams and limited experience with those.
